People in Florida, will be able to eat and then use guns at a restaurant’s shooting range.
Commissioners in Daytona Beach, approved the request of the restaurant to serve food, alcohol and provide guns. Owners Ron Perkinson and Edward Staudt, said that they have a plan on how to prevent drunk people from the 12-lane indoor gun range.
If a restaurant customer orders an alcoholic beverage, his driver’s license along with all other customers at their table will be scanned by the staff. If the person who was drinking wants to go to the shooting range, his license will be scanned again and the customer will be flagged as someone who is blocked due to the sale of alcohol.
Perkinson said they will keep a watch list for customers who might be a problem and they will contact the police when necessary.  Perkinson said that the business will also have access to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database. He also stressed that they are opening an upscale restaurant and not a bar.  However, he said that they need alcohol sales to make the restaurant profitable.
