Six foreign-based professionals, who earlier in the month missed Congo’s 2-1 defeat away to Nigeria in an Africa U-23 Championship qualifier, have been named in coach Claude Leroy’s squad for the reverse.
A slim 1-0 win is all Congo need to inflict another painful defeat on Nigeria to join the eight-team field for the 2015 Africa U-23 Championship, which is to serve as qualifying tournament for next year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
That fixture comes up on Sunday; 16:30 CAT in Pointe Noire and the hosts squad have now been boosted by the return of the six overseas-based pros.
They are midfielders Philzgerarld Mbaka, Hardy Binguila, Charlevy Mabiala, Yohan Andzouana and Julsy Boukama Kaya and striker Syvere Ganvoula Mboussy.
