Veteran Nigerian Reggae singer, Majek Fashek, has recently opened up on his fear of going into a rehabilitation center.
The singer who was a well respected superstar in the
80’s and 90’s, has had a serious decline in his physical appearance due
to constant use of hard drugs.
Majek Fashek spoke about rehab and his use of local medicine in his latest interview with Encomium Weekly.
“I’m scared of rehab” said Majek Fashek. “Let
me tell you what I did to escape the rehab. God gave me different
knowledge of orisha, babalawo knowledge. My ancestral knowledge, which
is what I’m using right now. I drink akpeteshie. It’s the orisha idea I
got” he further said.
Pastor Wole Oladiyun of CLAM invited Majek Fashek for a month long of deliverance. The ‘Send Down The Rain‘ singer went to the church on July 8 and he claims that the church leaders told him to clean up and go to rehab.
Majek Fashek refused because he said he does not want to be depressed, but later said he would go after he releases his album.
“I don’t want to get depressed. Jesus is my Hero,
my Lord and Saviour. He is the one that has seen me through up to this
level. I told them to wait until I have released my record. I no wan
enter hospital now, before somebody go inject me with bad injection” stated Majek Fashek.
Majek Fashek’s next album is titled Gangster Rasta,
a ten track album that will be released via Underground System Records.
The album was produced Chris Okoro. He also said that he will be
collaborating with Nigerian superstars Wizkid, 2face andOlamide.
Still on rehab, he does not like foreign medicine because it affects his virility.
Majek Fashek who is separated with his wife says the Celestial Church of Christ came in between her. “It
was the Celestial Church that confused her. They gave her wrong vision
about me. The celestial church can’t try me any day, any time. I will
attack them. I will burn them. I am equipped spiritually.“
In his last interview, Majek Fashek he said the Nigerian media is after him.
